Centre 81 is currently based in a complex of one-time school buildings in Tar Works Road, Great Yarmouth. The buildings are old, tired and expensive to maintain, so we have set our sights on developing a new centre. We have acquired land next door that will almost double the size of our site and allow us to create a new cutting-edge building.
Since it was launched in 1981, Centre 81 has built up a vast amount of experience of working with people with physical, sensory and other disabilities, and a reputation for encouraging and helping members to develop their abilities, enjoy themselves and become more independent.
Once members have decided what their aspirations are Centre 81 staff are available to offer a variety of support to assist members to acheive the goals they have set for themselves. The success of achieving personal aspirations and goals provides self encouragement to work towards achieving new aspirations. Every member has a personal achievement and development plan to chart their progress.
The professionally-staffed centre is open from 10am to 4.30pm from Monday to Friday and offers a remarkable range of activities, outings, games and sports. Lunch, drinks and snacks are available every day.
Our staff put people first in everything they do. Each member is treated with respect and dignity, and is encouraged to make his or her own decisions. Members are also on the board of trustees that oversees the running of Centre 81.
We need sponsorship for all aspects of our work, from very large to small one-off projects, and we really appreciate all contributions. If you would like to be a sponsor or make a donation towards our new Centre 81 please call 01493 852573 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
