Volunteering in Great Yarmouth
Support us

As a charity, we are always in need of extra support for the work of the centre and the development of the skills of our members.

The centre and its members are truly grateful for every contribution, however small.

Volunteers

We rely on a team of enthusiastic volunteers to keep the hustle and bustle of the Centre 81 going and to allow members to get the very most from their time with us.

It's important to us that volunteers feel comfortable in their surroundings, their role and their work so they will always be invited to drop in for a chat and a look around before making a decision.

Volunteering can fill a variety of roles. It might be anything from working one-to-one with members to washing-up, gardening or driving.

Others may be able to share one-off special skills such as helping members with sailing, swimming, flower arranging or any one of dozens of other activities.

We also want to ensure that that all volunteers get satisfaction and fulfillment from what they do - something we will regularly check on. After all, you may be volunteering for a whole range of reasons:

  • to give something back to the community
  • to put something worthwhile on your CV
  • to use spare time constructively
  • to put your skills to good use - or develop new ones
  • to keep busy now you have retired
  • to make a difference.

Whatever the reasons, we'd like to meet you - and to find something which will benefit you as well as the centre.

All volunteers will be subject to a positive Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check. Training will be provided, as required.

Centre 81 respects diversity and equal opportunities in our approach to members, volunteers and staff.
