Door-To-Door

Our door-to-door bus service serves around 650 people across the borough of Great Yarmouth and our blue and red specially adapted vehicles are a regular feature around town.

People who cannot access conventional public transport can be picked up from their homes and taken to and from a local destination of their choice. It operates Monday-Friday 9-4.30 with pre-booked trips available to everyone who signs up for a service which embraces those:

• with a substantial and permanent disability
• entitled to receive a concessionary bus pass
• over 60 and unable to use ordinary buses

Restrictions:

• Available to members only
• Travel outside the borough only by special arrangement
• Most bookings are accepted for time and date requested but passengers may sometimes be asked to adapt times
• We cannot guarantee arrival times 
• Trips cancelled on the day can incur a fee
• We cannot transport friends or other non-members
• If needed for assistance or guidance, escorts can travel at half-fare
• Only assistance dogs are allowed 
• Both manual and electric wheelchairs can be transported
• There is no limit to the number of trips booked, subject to availability
• The service can be used for Doctors or other appointments but times should make full allowance for delays en route or length of appointments 
• All journeys must be booked before noon on the day before travel (for Mondays, book before Friday noon).

Door-to-Door can provide transport for group outings or for individuals to access respite or holiday, subject to driver/bus availability.

We also work with other clubs and societies to transport their members to their meetings.
