Activities

We're often asked what members do at Centre 81.

There are two likely answers:
1 What don’t we do?
2 What would you like us to do?

If members have an idea for a new activity, another skill to learn, outing, pub to visit - we'll do our utmost to make it work. Heath and safety issues are the only real red light for us.

But to give you a flavour, here are just a few of the activities presently being pursued:

  • Bowling
  • Scrapbooks
  • Bingo
  • Swimming
  • Sailing
  • Art
  • Crafts
  • Photography
  • Fundraising
  • Beach buggy racing
  • Pub visits
  • Gardening
  • Cooking
  • Shopping
  • Drama
  • Tai Chi
  • Flower arranging
  • Tracing your ancestors/who do you think you are?
  • Wii games

We can work in groups or as individuals. Some members like to compile a life story book, perhaps reminding them and their families of when times were different.

And you may have heard the Jolly Roger Shanty Singers performing around Great Yarmouth - that's a group formed from our members.
